Nimbuzz 2.0.1 for Android has landed!! You can get it now from the Android Market or directly from Nimbuzz.

The new Nimbuzz version packs brand new features for all you Android fans out there.  Here is a short overview:

    * Invisible status for IM accounts
    * Updated contact list view
    * Sort contacts by status
    * 20% to 40% less battery consumption while running in the background

Now let's talk a bit more about each new feature.

With the new version you can choose to set your status to invisible for each IM account. For example, you can choose if you want to be invisible for your MSN friends and available for everyone else. Makes it easy to monitor activity while appearing offline :) . This new feature is available trough the updated "My profile" page and to get there you need to tap on your name at the top of the contact list.

We also updated the contact list view. Based on your feedback you can now see the status of your contacts on the right side and the community they belong to on the upper left corner of their profile image.

Next up is the ability to sort your contacts by status. If you choose this option you will see the contacts that are available for chat, followed the ones that are busy and after that the ones that have set their status on away. Think of it as sorting by real-time availability ;)

You guys asked us to improve the battery consumption for the Nimbuzz Android client and we listened. With the new 2.0.1  you will notice improvements of 20% to 40% less battery consumed.  The app consumes less battery while running in the background on a 3G connection and the difference will be most noticed if you have a large contact list. The more contacts you have the bigger the difference :) .

Improving the battery consumption is an ongoing task for us and rest assured we are working hard to make it even better!

Latest Android Apps : Opera Mobile 10.1 beta

The browser brings desktop Opera features such as Speed Dial shortcuts, Visual Tabs for easier navigation, Password Manager and Turbo mode to the mobile platform, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. Turbo mode compresses images and other graphical elements by up to 80 percent using Opera's servers in order to speed up page loading times on sub-par connections.

Opera has introduced new Mobile version 10.1 for android mobile users with same technology as desktops does, opera announced the speed level of browser will be more compare to the older version.

 

Using Opera's latest browser 10.1 for Android Mobile users, they can easily access to the web, using the simple and user friendly tools (Voice : Lars Boilesen, chief executive, Opera Software). Latest Opera Mobile browser will load pages more quickly, highly fluid panning, scrolling and ease zooming in and out experience.

 

New Android Mobile 10.1 Version browser also supports Geo-Location features and it will allows users to synchronize their favorites, Speed Dial settings and custom searches between the desktop and mobile version of the browser.

 

Opera says that this release has concentrated on renovating core functionalities like speed browsing, zooming etc.. and that it will introduce new features in future.

Over the next months opera will support for latest HTML version 5 Video and Flash, as well as upgrading to the latest Opera Presto core and thereby enabling standards like Application Cache and Web Storage and many more.

 

Opera also says that they are going to make user friendly and high performance by focusing on optimizing the hardware functionalities through just-in-time (JIT) compilation for the platform(Latest compilation and fastest.

Opera Mobile Version 10.1 for Android supports all versions of the operating system starting from version 1.6 upwards.

By using compression technique all the content will compress and reaches the browser quickly so that clients can get lightweight pages, so pages will load quick and fast like desktop browsers does.
